Morning Sickness a Blessing?

Came across this article today:

Morning sickness linked to smarter babies

Thu, Apr 23, 2009 (HealthDay News) -- Children born to mothers who have morning sickness may be smarter than those whose moms don't have nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, suggests a new study.

Researchers found that the children of mothers with morning sickness scored higher on tests designed to assess children's IQ and mental acuity, the Canadian Press reported.

But while this difference was statistically significant, it doesn't mean that children born to mothers who didn't have nausea during pregnancy are developmentally slow, said senior author Dr. Gideon Koren, director of the Motherisk Program at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. It's just that the other children scored higher on the tests.

The study appears in the Journal of Pediatrics.

Nausea has long been recognized as a sign of a healthy pregnancy, according to the CP. Pregnant women who have morning sickness are less likely to have a miscarriage and less likely to have babies with congenital cardiovascular problems.

P.S. We are scheduled to induce May 5th - unless I go on my own earlier!

A Taurus huh?

Browsing on the internet I was curious what sign our baby will be. I quickly found that she will definitely be a Taurus.  I have never been into horoscopes or believed any of the crap that they say, but when I came across her daily horoscope I nearly died!

The day seems to be pushing you forward faster than you want to go, but you can resist. It might take some doing and at least one person isn't going to like it much, but you've got your own needs.

What??? You can resist and you've got your own needs?? Wonder who that one person is who isn't going to like it much?

This photo is a perfect example of how I feel.  I am definitely ready to be done.  My contractions are getting closer and closer, and stronger and stronger and then they disappear for awhile- false labor every time! I have an appt tomorrow, maybe I'll have some better news :)

3 more weeks to go!

Yeah the count down continues.  Sorry no pics- I am definitely getting large, my feet and hands are swelling and the stretch marks are not my friend. Please come soon little baby!

Family Shower - not what your thinking!

My sweet mother-in-law had a baby shower for all the family members at her house last week. We got so many fun things for our baby girl!

The food was yummy - I ate way too much!

Tyler and his dad hung in the other room so they could sneak food without being seen.

Count Your Many Blessings

I take back all my complaints about this pregnancy- thank the lord, my belly doesn't look like that. Although it feels like it!
