Escape to the sunshine

We escaped the freezing weather and took a trip to sunny California

We rode the reindeer carousal at the South Coast Plaza mall

We enjoyed breakfast at Sugar Shack in Huntington Beach

...and of course we hit up Disneyland. I felt really old when I got nauseous from the spinning. I told Tyler to stop because I had just fed Hugh and I was worried he would spit up, but really I was feeling yucky!

The Rabbit Hole from Alice and Wonderland. Adele kept knocking on the door yelling for the hop-hop to come out!

I made the family go to Captain EO- Who doesn't enjoy Michel Jackson killing bad guys with his awesome dance moves? Hugh sat through the whole movie with his big, crooked glasses :)

The highlight of the whole day was when Adele got a big hug from Minnie

We really had a great trip. The weather couldn't have been better and the kids had a really great time.

This boy is the sweetest, most loving little guy! He is a mover just like his big sister and is already into everything. He is trying so hard to stand by himself right now and I have a feeling walking isn't too far off. I was hoping he would be my calm & mellow little guy, but I realized that his parents both have aggressive, feisty personalities so that is probably not going to happen :)

Splash Park

We love the splash park. Adele runs around like crazy and Hugh even enjoys getting his feet wet.
This is part of the splash park in St. George. It is such a neat little place with a river and a water fountain for the kids to play in. I told Adele to give me her best model pose!

Fourth of July Evergreen Parade

We have participated in the Evergreen Parade since I was 5, and we always complained to my dad that we wanted a float. Well this year was the year that we made it happen. Tyler and Colton constructed this fancy Rootbeer Float Float and I was responsible for decorations.

Adele and I got ready to throw out rootbeer barrel candies!
Everything she does is hilarious to me! She enjoyed the float so much and had a ball riding down the parade route.
Pretty sure she keep picking the cotton and we were left with half of what you see here by the end :)

We began demolition on this kitchen right after Hugh was born. So we have been with out for two months now and we are so happy to have a new one!

I am so happy with the way everything turned out. It was worth the hassle of having no kitchen with a newborn and a two year old to chase around in the process. We are loving every minute we spend in this new room, it has completely changed the feel of the house.

We don't really do the pretty princess thing at our house, instead Adele was Peter Pan. . .

Cutest Peter Pan I have ever seen. I was determined to take her trick or treating rain or shine! She loved it once she got the hang of it. Every time she hears our doorbell now, she runs to the door with treats yelling, "Trick or Treat". We went to church the next day and to the first person we saw Adele said, "Hi, candy?" Even though people told her what a cute boy she was or that her Robin Hood costume was cute, we enjoyed this Halloween more than any other.
The whole family got into the spirit of things for a fun costume party. Tyler made an incredible Captain Hook and well since the Tinkerbell costume no longer fits, I had to go as Hook's sidekick- Smee! (Check out the big old belly peeking out of my shirt- It was perfect!)

After being turned away from 4 campsites, we finally ended up at Smith and Moorehouse for the night. Adele was loving the fire and sitting with her daddy.

We got her all snuggly and ready for bed.

Morning seemed to come so fast. After a pretty cold night, we were so glad to have the heater on!!

Pop-Tart breakfast by the campfire!

Definitely not an easy trip, but so worth it! We were glad to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

Hawaii Cruise

We just returned from a Hawaiian cruise with 20 people from Tyler's family. Lucky ducky Adele got to join us!

Baby Animal Day

Baby Animal Day in Logan was so much fun this year. This was our first year going and we will be making it an annual tradition. I have always wanted to go- now that I have a kid I have an excuse to be there!

We went down to San Jose for Bobbie's wedding. While we were down there we made a quick trip over to San Francisco. We loved the street performers and the chowder!

We visited the Palace of Fine Arts. They had a great children's museum that all of us adults really enjoyed. This is a picture of Dallas "learning"

Scary day at Primary Children's

I woke up to Adele choking and gagging at 3:00 am- and she was barfing nonstop through the rest of the morning. At 8:00 am I called her pediatrician and they told me to take her right to Primary Children's. I was thinking this wasn't that big of a deal, but since she had thrown up so much and was acting a little delirious they were worried she was dehydrated. Of course this all happens when Ty is out camping with the scouts, so I packed her up and headed up to the hospital. The doctors first words to me are, "this could be as simple as a virus or she may have pressure on her brain and we may need to do a brain scan". What?! A brain scan- lets not throw that out there unless the procedure needs to be done. Anyway the doctor gave her Pedialyte, but that lasted about 2 mins. So they put a catheter in to check for a UTI. Adele just laid there and looked around during the whole process- not a peep! Next they put an IV in to get her electrolytes and fluid levels back up. This was so sad- she was really upset. After getting the IV in we had to wait an hour for the fluid to go in her system. Luckily she was sleepy so her and I snuggled in the hospital bed for the hour and then Ty arrived. They discharged us and told us to keep a close eye on her. They still aren't sure why she was so sick because she had no fever or any other symptoms. I am just glad she is a tough girl and is feeling much better.

I love that even though she is as sick as a dog, she still pulls a big cheeser for the camera!

I always thought that I was the cutesy creative one in the relationship, but Tyler seems to out do me every holiday. For Valentines Ty had a scavenger hunt all set up with funny poems at each stop. The first stop was a framed picture, the second was a heart rate monitor and the third was a jogging stroller. All of which I had asked for ( I gave him a few ideas not thinking I was getting all of them!) I am hoping for more good weather so I can put the stroller to use.

Morning comes so fast

Every morning I hear Adele wake up, I swear I just went to bed! Our routine is the same every morning. Ty gets her from her crib and brings her to me so I can feed her without even leaving my warm bed- such a nice hubby. Ty is usually so out of it in the morning that I always find something out of the ordinary later on in the day. Last week it was a run away poop that must have rolled out of her diaper when he changed her. Today, her pants were on backwards! After I feed her she watches a Baby Einstein show in her Bumbo so we can get that last 1/2 hour of sleep. Ty always wraps her up to make sure she stays warm :)

My uncle gave Adele this pacifier and since she doesn't take a binky it made for an interesting photo shoot!

This is why she was a skunk this year- she always scrunches her nose and makes stinky faces then proceeds to breathe really hard through her nose! It makes us laugh every time.
We were fortunate to have been invited to the Fielding's Halloween bash. I went as the lady from the "Birds" and Tyler was a gorilla. . . . in a tux?!

Ty's brother Spencer played his last high school football game at Timpview. They got worked, but we still had fun cheering them on.

I am so proud of this pumpkin I did for Adele. I scraped off just the surface so the words glowed with the candle at night.

This was a costume my mom made for Dallas. It was pretty small so we just put it on her for a second.

Our friends Clint and Elyse had a fun kids party during the day. Adele napped most of the time, so Tyler and I enjoyed all the kids activities.

Our porch was extra scary this year. We had a mechanical goblin that would move when someone came to the door. We also grew 10 pumpkins in our garden this year so we had a porch full of carved pumpkins! Half of the pumpkins aren't even in the pic!

For Halloween night I dressed as the wicked queen from Snow White. It was so fun to see the little girls faces who recognized me. One little girl was so sure that I was the "real" one!
I couldn't keep a straight face- I knew how silly I looked!

We just returned home from a week in Cabo. It was such a fun trip and we made so many memories (none of which Adele will ever remember!) Oh well, we got to enjoy the sunshine and each other.

Halloween Decor

I bought these fun orange and black ornaments and wasn't quite sure how I could use them. Since my pots were empty, I thought I could somehow use the space. I had it all envisioned in my head. So, I grabbed Tyler and told him to hold still while I climbed on top of his shoulders. Here I am standing on Tyler's shoulders with long clippers in my hand trying to get these branches from the back yard. I almost lost my life, but I got the branches that I wanted. So I hauled them to the front yard where I had some cardboard laid out to spray the branches. Tyler is shaking his head and says, "You know we look like the crazy neighbors with you painting dead branches in the front yard!" So I almost lost my life and am now labeled the crazy neighbor, but I ended up with some pretty cute Halloween decorations.

Tyler is riding his bike (yes his bicycle) to Vegas. They left this morning and are riding over a hundred miles a day for four days. His office does this ride for charity every year. I did some serious damage today at Nordstrom, oops!! My latest obsession is shopping for clothes for Adele. I think I need a new hobby- this one is getting a bit pricey. Funny how I spend my days dresses in rags, but Adele is always dressed with nicer things than I own. She is like my little doll that I can play dress ups with. Every morning she wakes up and we put on an outfit, she usually barfs or poops or gets it dirty and then we just put another cute one on. Some days we go through several. I am glad for now that she doesn't have an opinion on the matter :D

Well we went to her two month check up and she is definitely growing!! She is at 12 lbs and 23 inches long (80% for both height and weight!). Every mom talks about how sad it is when they get their shots - totally agree. There is nothing worse than seeing her smiling, happy face turn to sheer terror the second she got poked with all those needles. She is still being a good girl and is still (cross our fingers) sleeping through the night. Love her :)

Day 4

Adele is now 4 days old, she is the most quiet little baby. Hopefully it stays that way. Cacia is feeling much better and is now in very little pain. We will be coming home tomorrow. Thanks to all those who came to visit and share this special moment in our lives. These pictures are of Adele in her first outfit, and grammy there to help play dress up.

She has been so good all day - hardly a peep! I am beginning to wonder if she is my child. She got her hair curled and a bow put in today, so cute. We love her more and more every time we are with her. I have started to walk around today. It is quite painful, but I am definitely on the road to recovery. We are hoping for another great day tomorrow.

Two weeks overdue she finally came. We went to the hospital at midnight, all was running smooth until the end. The baby's heart rate was dropping after 13 hours of labor, the doctors had to do an emergency C section. Little Adele is happy and healthy. She came into this world at 8 Lbs 1 Oz. Cacia is a little groggy from all the pain meds, but doing great. She wanted a Cinco De Mayo baby and got her wish! It will be Mexican fiestas every year for her birthday party.....Ariba ariba! Cacia and I are greatful to have a healthy baby, even though this whole pregnancy has been a little rough to say the least. Today, it made the last 9 months of struggles,and morning sickness all worth it.

CINCO DE MAYO!!! Right at the stroke of midnight Cacia's water broke and we were admitted to the hospital. It's 5 Am right now and the Epidural is making things oh so nice. Cacia was bound and determined to go into labor today, I had to chase her half way up Mount Olympus earlier in the afternoon, and what do you know...... It really worked. The nurses say she will probably deliver later this afternoon. We are going to be parents, no turning back now.

The study appears in the Journal of Pediatrics.

Nausea has long been recognized as a sign of a healthy pregnancy, according to the CP. Pregnant women who have morning sickness are less likely to have a miscarriage and less likely to have babies with congenital cardiovascular problems.

A Taurus huh?

Browsing on the internet I was curious what sign our baby will be. I quickly found that she will definitely be a Taurus. I have never been into horoscopes or believed any of the crap that they say, but when I came across her daily horoscope I nearly died!

The day seems to be pushing you forward faster than you want to go, but you can resist. It might take some doing and at least one person isn't going to like it much, but you've got your own needs.

This photo is a perfect example of how I feel. I am definitely ready to be done. My contractions are getting closer and closer, and stronger and stronger and then they disappear for awhile- false labor every time! I have an appt tomorrow, maybe I'll have some better news :)

My sweet mother-in-law had a baby shower for all the family members at her house last week. We got so many fun things for our baby girl!

The food was yummy - I ate way too much!

Tyler and his dad hung in the other room so they could sneak food without being seen.

We stayed in the Home Hotel, ate at Royal's (yummy pizza) & witnessed some serious love making in the hot springs! It was a fun get away that reminded me how much I love just being with Ty. He is so funny and always makes me laugh.

Smooth Away

For Christmas Tyler's dad made an awesome purchase that we have all been able to benefit from. This little gem is called the smooth away. It is basically the finest grade of sandpaper that rubs your hair away.

Painful? No. Smells like burnt hair? yes. But look at these amazing results . . . .

Our neighbor Logan's left hand has never been so smooth, and as you can see that is one smooth belly!

Nursery time

Over the holiday break we did more work than we did relaxing. The end result was totally worth it.

This is what we started with . . . .

I chose a yellow paint that was scary bright in the day. So after two coats of the scary paint, I decided we needed something a little more calm. Tyler and I put on two coats of the new color. Four coats later we are now master painters and have beautiful walls to look at! All Tyler could think of was the markers and pen marks that would soon cover our pretty walls. We switched out the lamp on the ceiling and replaced it with a fun chandelier.

Our friend Logan helped Ty assemble the furniture, got some carpet and wa-la! We have a beautiful nursery. Well almost, we still need a mattress.

Nana knows she is not allowed in there and waits at the edge of the room wanting so badly to go in.

Eagle Power!

Ty got to have the experience of a lifetime during the holiday break. He went with some friends to Philly to catch the Eagles/Cowboys game. It turned out to be a playoff game and the Eagles totally dominated! He hadn't been back since his mission, and I think this experience was a bit different than what he was used to when he lived there!

Kelly Brady Christmas Party

Tyler and I flew to Spokane to enjoy the Kelly Brady Christmas party.
This was one of many fireplaces in the lodge. It snowed over a foot while we ate and danced in the lodge. It was such a fun atmosphere that got us in the Christmas spirit.
This was our cute cabin that we stayed the night in.
This is the view from our cabin when we arrived. By the next morning half the lake was frozen and everything was buried in snow.

We had so much fun on the sleigh ride - pulled by clydesdales! The food was great and it was great to go back and visit our friends there.

Britney is back

I love Britney Spears first of all. I knew she would pick herself up and make a come back! My dad took me to her concert in high school and it was the absolute best concert that I have been to. I loved the fireworks and dancing and of course Britney. I was so excited when they announced her tour dates and saw that she is coming April 14th to Salt Lake. I quickly realized that I am due the week after - Hmm, me 9 months prego at a Britney Spears concert. It kinda works right? I will just have to find a really hot bare midriff & mini skirt to show off my bulging belly.

I followed in my mom's footsteps and got all our decorations up on Thanksgiving. I am overwhelmed every year trying to find a spot for all of my Christmas decorations. It took me a few hours to get things how I wanted, but the end result is always worth it. I love how the house looks and smells during December.

Tyler even got on the roof and put up our fun lights.

Struck Christmas Party

We had so much fun at Log Haven for this year's Struck Christmas party. They alway raffle off some great prizes which included: iPod touch, Xbox system, 42" flat screen, 46" flat screen and a MacBook. Of course the pregnant girl takes home a new pair of skis - I should be grateful just to win something. The skis are pretty sweet but I don't see myself taking them down a hill any time soon.

Anyway the food was yummy and we love getting together with peeps from work! They made a naughty and nice list compiled with all employees - I made the naughty list for hurling all over the office. Not cool- I always keep it to myself kinda!

Cheerleading or Sports?

I remember my dad driving me to my high school basketball game to cheer that night. My dad asked Dallas if she wanted to be a cheerleader too. Dallas quickly said back, "Dad, cheerleaders are so stupid". She was six and from that point on we know she would be our little sports star.

Last night we went to her volleyball banquet where she was recognized for her hard work and athletic ability. Good job Dal!

Only one weekend has passes since volleyball is over and she already made the basketball team. So we are onto the next sport without any break. Tyler and I have been to 3 parent meetings in the last week - AH! I am just glad we can put this tall giraffe to some good use!

Tyler is the happiest boy in the world! After screaming in the car to himself for a few minutes in shock- he finally called me to tell me the good news. He has passed his second insurance test that now gives him the ability to insure cars, houses, boats on top of doing life and health policies. I love to dress up for Halloween and felt bad that I hadn't put anything together. I decided to whip up this beautiful piece before the trick-or-treaters came. After much nagging, Tyler came up with his own costume! He said that the cowboy boots were just "added value". He put on this whole act every time a kid came to the door.

Our little princess is growing up. Dallas went to her first homecoming dance last weekend. We had so much fun shopping for her outfit. Our cute neighbor Mandy helped us out in the hair dept - thanks! Dallas's date Mo was just as nervous as she was. He brought her the most beautiful purple roses - My favorite. Tyler had to remind me that they weren't for me. Dallas looked so cute but most of all had a great time.

Thriller - Girls Night Out!
